My inspiration for "An Evening Out" was from a childhood memory of whatching my mother prepare for a formal affair. Before she would leave the house the last thing she would do would do was pick up her gloves and evening bag from her dressing table bench.

To create the piece, I created the cusion out of wood and carved foam, covered with vitreous stained glass. I then added the evening bag - more vitreous glass - and finally the gloves, made with irridescent stained glass. Finally, I placed the mosaic piece in a bench I purchased at a garage sale and refurbished in my studio.

It was a lot of work, but I'm very happy with the results.
